The acrylic painting “Intraverse 2” is a painting about immersion in one’s own world – a world that does not exist outside, but is born in the silence within. At the centre of the composition is a woman absorbed in concentration. Her eyes are closed and her body remains still, as if she were in a state of meditation. She is surrounded by a whirl of colour – from deep pink and grey to delicate tones of white – that wraps around her like the energy of thought. The realistic figure contrasts with the abstract background, giving the painting a symbolic dimension – the woman becomes the axis of her own universe.
The title of the painting comes from combining the words intra – “inside” – and universum – “universe”. In this way a new world of meaning comes into being – a place where a woman discovers the space between emotion and silence. It is an allegory of an inner cosmos in which thoughts, memories and intuitions pulse. Because it is there, within, that true energy and light are hidden.
Dynamic brushstrokes and the spiral arrangement of the composition draw the eye into the centre of the painting. As a result, the viewer has the impression of stepping into this space as well – into the very heart of a woman’s world. The palette of the work is built on contrasts: cool, blue-grey tones collide with warm pinks, yet together they create a harmonious whole. Although the colours seem intense, they carry calm and delicacy.
The woman in the painting symbolises focus, stillness and the courage to look deep within herself. In this way, the whole becomes a metaphor for the journey to oneself – to a world where thoughts and emotions create a new dimension.
The painting fits perfectly into spaces that encourage reflection and calm. That is why it pairs beautifully with bright interiors, wood and natural fabrics. It brings an atmosphere of depth and harmony, while becoming a focal point.
